Ten reasons Firefox Is a Better Idea than IE.

We are still waiting to receive thousands of emails from people who have successfully switched from IE to Mozilla Firefox. Executives. Parents. Students. Researchers. Retirees. Here are some stories, that might sound like something the aforementioned people would send. We’ll continue to add letters -- if people send them. Oh, right. Send them to switch@switch2firefox.com. Also, attach a jpg image of yourself if you wish.

Embracing Technology

I’ve been using computers for ten years and married for three years. The two never really conflicted with each other until my wife discovered Mozilla Firefox. Life has never been the same since.

Upon the download of the Open Source browser, I only needed to work one job. The first being my primary job as a Network Administrator at work. The second job, Network Administrator for my house, has mysteriously disapeared. No longer do I recieve calls from my wife about spyware causing her computer to slow to a halt. No longer do I have to come home from work and perform the same duties at home. Firefox just works, and it does so without taking over your computer, causing your computer to get infected, or make the network crash.

In summary, Mozilla Firefox has been a godsend to my home network. Now only if I could get my boss at work to embrace the same technology that my wife has.

“Happy Brother-in-Law ”

My in-laws purchased my old IBM PC and when it finally got dwarfed by infections, I suggested that they should download Mozilla Firefox. With Internet Explorer, only my mother-in-law used it to check her Yahoo!. They were constantly in fear of making a serious mistake, and all too often I was over at their house fixing spyware problems.

After a reformat and Windows 98 installation, we installed Mozilla Firefox. My father-in-law gets so excited, sometimes teary-eyed, about his new internet experience, he thanks me up and down every time I visit. He shows off his browser to everyone who comes over. While he wouldn’t touch the Internet, today he is theming his browser, adding extensions, playing games within the browser, and talking to new friends on a Radio Hobbyist forum.

For anyone and everyone

Its amazing how many 'geeks' I talk to say that Mozilla Firefox is only for geeks, a toy that is not intended for the internet. What a grin I had on my face when I saw the latest articles recommending that people not use IE. Now my 'geek' friends even in the redmond area are recommending anyone and everyone to download Firefox today and dump the Buggy browser.

I applauded when my geek friends started embracing web standards and used Firefox. Now I can start designing web pages the way they were meant to be, not having to worry if a particular CSS function might not work in an older, non-compilant browser.

"Speed Racer"

I'm am, err, was a Netscape Affeciando. When the rest of the world decided to switch to IE4 and 5, I stuck with my Old netscape 4.7, because I was just used to it. I tried netscape 6.0 and was so turned off that I went back (to 4.7). In the past few months however, I started noticing my good 'ole browser slowing down and even locking up on some websites.

My friend recommended me to Mozilla.org, to check out their browsers. He also told me that the some of the same people who built the Netscape 4.7 browser, work on Mozilla Team. I decided to go with Mozilla Firefox because I wanted to still be able to use My 4.7 E-mail program.

So far, I've been very impressed by the speed, and stability of this browser. Who knows, maybe the next thing I'll do is go download Mozilla Thunderbird and get finally rid myself of that old Netscape 4.7 browser.
